MSI's New York law firm member, Ruskin Moscou Faltischek, recently held a symposium, entitled, “Making the Choice: An Open Discussion with Long Island’s Ruskin Moscou Faltischek, P.C.”, designed to give budding attorneys a real-life glimpse into what working at a law firm is like beyond the hype and glitz.
At the symposium, held at Hofstra University on February 27, 2008 and sponsored by the School of Law’s Office of Career Services, 50 Hofstra law students had a unique opportunity to get a bird’s eye view of what life is really like inside a Long Island law firm.
For more than two hours, four Ruskin Moscou Faltischek attorneys - David P. Leno, Dina Karman, Jennifer Hillman and Denise Loiacono - shared their experiences and fielded questions from a packed house of students eager to hear about the benefits and challenges of practicing law on Long Island.

The topics covered included choosing between a New York City firm and a Long Island firm; work/life balance issues; the sophistication level and variety of work available at Long Island firms; the opportunities for career development and advancement; and the importance of business development and community involvement.
