Estate planning attorney Lisa Weinstein Burns attracted by Boston firm's entrepreneurial culture

Burns’ practice is concentrated in the areas of tax planning, multi-generational wealth transfers, business-succession planning, and estate planning and administration. Burns counsels her clients in a variety of estate-planning matters, including revocable trusts, irrevocable insurance and generation-skipping trusts, qualified personal residence trusts, charitable trusts, wills, and durable powers of attorney, among others. Burns also assists executors and fiduciaries with the administration of estates and trusts.

Burns has earned widespread recognition for her client service. She was one of Boston’s “Top Ten Lawyers” in the April 2008 edition of Boston Women’s Business Journal, and she was cited as a Super Lawyers “Rising Star” in the area of Estates. Burns is also a prolific author on various estate-planning and tax topics.

Before joining Ruberto, Israel & Weiner, Burns was a director at Rackemann Sawyer & Brewster. She earned her B.A. from the University of North Carolina; her J.D., cum laude, from the Washington College of Law at American University, where she was the note and comment editor for the American University Law Review; and her LL.M. in taxation, with distinction, from the Georgetown University School of Law. She is active in several professional organizations, including the Boston Bar Association, the Massachusetts Bar Association, the Boston Estate Planning Council, and the Boston Probate and Estate Planning Forum.
