Philippe A. Schmidt, French lawyer and cyber hate expert, was unanimously voted chairman of the board of the 17-country strong International Network Against Cyber Hate (INACH).
Philippe takes over the torch from Christopher Wolf, who held the position for the last 4 years.
INACH is a Netherlands-based international network, founded in 2002 by Jugenschutz.NET (Germany) and Magenta Foundation (Netherlands). Its mission is to counter discrimination and hate on the Internet.
Managing partner of French law firm SBKG, Philippe A. Schmidt is a graduate of Paris University School of Law, HEC and Columbia University School of Law. He is a member of the Paris Bar, chair of its US affairs committee and has taught law for many years at the University of Paris. He joined LICRA, the International League Against Racism and Anti-Semitism, over more than 25 years ago.
Today, he is both Vice President of LICRA in charge of International Affairs and a member of its legal committee. As one of LICRA's lawyers, Philippe A. Schmidt has been engaged in much litigation related to racism and antisemitism and specialized on the issue of hate on the Internet.
