Tax Consultant Elizabeth Bainbridge, of MSI's Northern UK accounting firm member, Armstrong Watson, has enjoyed a trio of exam triumphs gaining top marks nationally in the taxation paper.
Elizabeth is now qualified as a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) which is a globally recognised qualification taken by people involved with trusts and private client work. This latest academic success accompanies Elizabeth’s Chartered Accountant and Chartered Tax Adviser status.
STEP is a demanding qualification and is only pursued by leading professionals. Elizabeth’s recent success means she is the fifth member of the team to qualify in the field, demonstrating the exemplar skill set that is consistently delivered at Armstrong Watson.
Elizabeth said: ”There were four sets of exams covering the administration of estates, the administration of trusts, the taxation of trusts and estates, and trust and estate accounting. This latest stage of my specialist training was extremely difficult but I’m really pleased to have gained the top national mark – it makes it all the more worthwhile!
“I will now be able to support my clients in all aspects of lifetime planning and help them with the difficult times following a bereavement, as well as the other areas of accountancy I am qualified in.
“I have been with Armstrong Watson since 1992 and they have been highly supportive of me furthering my career and we’re always given opportunities to get involved with training at the highest level. The STEP exams are extremely challenging and my colleagues have been very encouraging in helping me to achieve my goal.”
