MSI Membership Enables Irish Accounting Firm To Coordinate Listed Company's Global Expansion

Dublin firm LHM Casey McGrath facilitates San Leon's expansion to Poland, USA and Canada

After helping their client San Leon Energy Plc ("San Leon") to list on London's junior stock exchange (AIM), MSI Global Alliance's Ireland accounting firm member LHM Casey McGrath was faced with the challenge of facilitating the next stages of the client's expansion.

San Leon planned to move into the USA, Canada and Poland but needed a complex blend of legal, tax and accounting expertise in each of these foreign markets. Internationally oriented clients often outgrow medium sized professional practices if the firm is unable to provide 'on the ground' support through subsidiary offices or the required level of service sophistication, but LHM Casey McGrath was able to reach out confidently with San Leon to its trusted MSI Global Alliance (MSI) affiliates in markets that were unfamiliar to the client. Furthermore, the firm was able to add further value by acting as the engagement partner who could coordinate both legal and accounting related advice. This removed a major headache for the client who was able to rely on trusted member firms that know each other well through MSI and are able to collaborate together from 'under one roof'.

"The introductions made by Con Casey of LHM Casey McGrath to his MSI colleagues in Canada and Poland have been of major significance to our ongoing operations," commented Paul Sullivan, Finance Director of San Leon.

"LHM Casey McGrath's ability to seamlessly coordinate not only accounting but also tax and legal services in our target jurisdictions was hugely impressive, and quite unique in my experience. It is reassuring to know that LHM Casey McGrath can facilitate access to high calibre firms almost anywhere in the world we choose to continue our expansion."

While LHM Casey McGrath focused on handling the client's financial, corporate governance and tax advice in Ireland, it was able to call on MSI colleagues Tad Robinski at Polish accounting firm KR Audyt in Warsaw, Michael Tomczak at Polish law firm Tomczak & Partners, and Ross McCutcheon at Vancouver law firm Maitland & Co to carry out the work in their respective areas of expertise and jurisdictions.

LHM Casey McGrath partner Con Casey comments: "Without our MSI connection, we may have been unable to assist our client with their international expansion. Instead we have been able to not only help San Leon move successfully into new markets, but also save the client considerable fees and a possible bad experience with professional firms unknown to us.

"Our relationship with MSI and its member firms played a major role in retaining one of our VIP clients."
