Overview
The firm was established in Sydney, Australia in 1894 when Thomas Davis from the United Kingdom commenced his practice in the centre of what is now known as the Central Business District. It is now registered in each State and Territory of Australia and in 1990 became a member of MSI Global Alliance. However, we remain an independent Australian firm.
Thomas Davis & Co., is one of the oldest firms of Accountants in Australia and has been very much involved in the welfare of the profession. The partners have always been involved in Institute affairs, Thomas Davis being among the subscribers to the Memorandum of Association of the Corporation of Accountants 1899, a forerunner to The Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia. A partner, Mr. Remington Shetcliffe, was a member of the first Council of The Institute, whilst another was a State Chairman and a Member of the National Council, and many important positions have been held by partners throughout the community over the years.
The firm is ideally suited to meet its objectives, which are to offer a wide range of services to a wide range of persons and corporations, and to maintain a prompt personal service to all clients at the highest level of professional competency.
