MSI Global Alliance has admitted accounting firm Ulaanbaatar Audit Corporation as its member firm with exclusive rights over the territory of Mongolia.
The 70-staff firm has approximately 15 qualified auditors and accountants spread across six branches throughout the country. Work is carried out according to Mongolian accounting and audit laws, as well as International Accounting Standards and IFRS.
Whilst audit forms the lion's share of the firm's practice, accounting and consulting services are also carried out along with various ancillary services.
Mongolia is a country in East-Central Asia, bordering Russia to the north and China to the south, with just 2.9 million people within an area of over 1.5 million square kilometres, 60% of whom live in the capital Ulaanbaatar. Between 2002 and 2006, the country experienced annual average GDP growth rates of 7.5%, and it has its own stock exchange.
Mongolia is a country rich in mineral resources, and mining continues to rise as a major industry as evidenced by the number of Chinese, Russian and Canadian firms opening and starting mining businesses in Mongolia. The country also has growing science, technology and services sectors, with many foreign companies opening offices in Mongolia.
Says James Mendelssohn, MSI's Chief Executive: "Mongolia is growing in strength and this trend is set to continue as the government encourages foreign trade and investment. It is very important that MSI has an accounting presence in Mongolia and Ulaanbaatar Audit Corporation is a high quality firm that is able to meet the varied needs of clients entering the Mongolian market."
