The employment team at MSI's Eastern UK law firm Birketts LLP has grown apace in the last five years. It now consists of two partners, three associates and four solicitors, and will continue to grow with the arrival of Catherine Johnson, formally of Eversheds in London, and another associate from a large Norwich firm joining in early 2009.
The employment department currently covers Cambridgeshire, Norfolk, Suffolk, Essex and Hertfordshire, with lawyers working from Birketts’ Ipswich, Norwich and Cambridge offices.
The team’s latest recruit, Abigail Trencher, has been appointed to head the employment team in Birketts’ new Cambridge offices. Abigail brings with her extensive experience of the local government and education sectors, and has particular expertise in advising education clients on employment issues. She has also acted for clients within the private sector advising on all aspects of employment law.

The team, which consists of Jolyon Berry, Jeanette Wheeler, Sonya O’Reilly, Matthew Newnham, Ben Conway, Katie Harris-Wright, Lisa Hayward and Lottie Seaborn, are becoming well known for their vibrant and energetic approach, as well as their dedication to client service.
