Reducing carbon emissions is a major topic in the news today with many homes and businesses seeking alternative sources of power and seeking ways of improving their own carbon footprints.
MSI's UK South Coast law firm member, Lester Aldridge is an active member of ‘The 100 days of Carbon Clean up Campaign run by Chartered Institute of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE) and supported by the Carbon Trust. The campaign was initially launched in 2006 and encourages companies to implement simple no/low cost carbon reduction measures during the 100 days in an effort to reduce the carbon emitted from buildings.
As part of the 100 Days of Carbon Cleanup Campaign, CIBSE has been encouraging everyone to plan for the future and plant a tree. To help companies get started the CIBSE gave away 30 Beech trees.
Lester Aldridge was one of the lucky companies in this national campaign to receive a tree to plant. Planting trees is an increasingly popular and immediate contribution to reducing carbon emissions and in the words of popular poet Lucy Larcom “He who plants a tree plants hope”.

Sharon Craddock, Head of Facilities of Lester Aldridge comments.” At Lester Aldridge we are committed to reducing carbon emissions and working towards a greener future. This tree represents our individual responsibility to current environmental issues but also signifies the long term strategy to reduce carbon emissions.”
There are now 700 organisations taking part in the 2007 campaign. Lester Aldridge are encouraging other organisations in the local community to get involved in this national campaign. For more information visit www.cibse.org
