Robert Homem of Dixcart Management (Madeira) Lda and Laurence Binge made a series of presentations on international corporate structures, during a visit to South Africa in November. These presentations were organized through the Institute of Professional Accountants of which Robert Homem is a member. The main objective of the visit was to raise interest amongst South African Accountants and Tax Advisors regarding the benefits of using a Madeira Holding company. The major commercial centres in South Africa were included, that is Johannesburg, Durban and Cape Town.
The first presentation commenced in the “Golden City”, Johannesburg. There was a good audience with most of the large accounting practices attending. The presentations were divided into four sections: an introduction to the Dixcart Group, Madeira holding companies, UK Holding and agency companies and finally Madeira Trading companies.
The next location was Durban in a hotel called the Riverside Hotel. The presentation was attended by a vocal group of accountants from the Institute whom expressed a great deal of interest in the subjects presented.
Cape Town was visited next. The presentation was held just outside the city at Rondebosch. It was well attended and the accountants demonstrated their interest in the topics through the number of questions raised.
After such a productive week a small amount of relaxation was well deserved. The Victoria and Alfred Waterfront Marina is to be recommended, especially with the back drop of the sun setting behind Table Mountain.
