Profile
Aitken Partners is a Premium Level Melbourne based law firm that has been serving private, business and government clients for more than 80 years. We have eight partners and a total staff of around 60, with teams focusing on Commercial Law, Commercial Dispute Resolution & Litigation, Property Law, Employment Law, Family Law and Wills, Estates & Succession.
Overview
Aitken Partners is dedicated to ensuring the long term success of our clients through the provision of quality services and support. We make this a reality by recruiting, developing and investing in our people, from top-level personnel to support and administrative staff.
Many of our practitioners are Accredited Specialists in their fields of expertise, and we encourage everyone in our team to continually expand and enhance their skills through ongoing training and professional development initiatives.
Aitken Partners is uniquely placed to understand the differing needs of private clients and business clients, having represented the interests of and advised both for more than 80 years. The requirements of a client who has a stake in a business and a personal connection to its past and future, as compared to a client who answers to a board of management or directors are often different, but the required outcome is the same.
You need success... you need your lawyers to understand you.
Aitken Private
To many law firms, private client services are represented by providing personal services advice such as wills and estates, trusts, powers of attorney, family law, property and conveyancing, asset protection, taxation and superannuation, succession and estate planning. We provide those services, but we view our private client services more broadly, encompassing the full range of the legal services to family businesses and other SMEs where the owner is a stakeholder.
Aitken Business
Aitken Business provides a targeted range of services to clients in industries such as transport, aged care and retirement, franchising, manufacturing, property, food and hospitality. We provide advice around corporate governance issues and directors’ responsibilities, mergers & acquisitions, joint ventures, employment law, intellectual property, litigation & dispute resolution, general contracts and agreements, competition law and trade practices, business restructuring, insolvency and taxation.
