MSI's Scottish law firm member Thorntons Law LLP has appointed a third partner, Magnus Mackay, to its new Inverness office.

Partner and Intellectual Property specialist, Lesley Larg, at MSI's Scottish law member Thorntonsis now in post as the firm’s first female Managing Partner.

The annual charity campaign of MSI's Scottish law member Thorntons Law LLP raised UK£75,000 for 'Cash for Kids' through its Charity Wills initiative – an £13,000 increase on the previous year. Now in its 23rd year, Thorntons’ Charity Wills month takes place across its offices in Fife, Dundee, Perth, Angus and 2019 marked the first year for Edinburgh’s involvement. To date the campaign has raised more than £450,000 for Cash for Kids.

MSI's Scottish law firm member Thorntons has recorded strong financial results as its ambitious growth strategy of recent years begins to deliver for the business and its clients. Thorntons has reported a 10.5 per cent growth in turnover for the year to 31 May 2019 to a record £29.8 million, with profits increasing by 22.2 per cent.

MSI's Scottish law firm Thorntons has swelled its ranks with fourteen new trainee solicitors – its largest ever single intake. The new recruits have joined the firm to undertake a two year traineeship across its network of offices and will develop their skills and knowledge working across a variety of legal disciplines.
