Overview

Alan Blum is a partner in Moses & Singer’s Intellectual Property Group.  He represents diverse clients throughout the world in the procurement and enforcement of their intellectual property rights.  Alan conducts, and supervises foreign attorneys in, IP litigation commenced in foreign courts and administrative agencies and represents numerous clients in administrative judicial actions before the United States Trademark Trial and Appeal Board.  He also counsels transnational corporations on trademark adoption, registration and protection, and has significant experience in trademark and copyright licensing and other intellectual property-related transactions.

A former Assistant General Counsel to United Merchants & Manufacturers Inc., a Fortune 500 corporation, Alan is an active member of the International Trademark Association (INTA).  He is also a frequent lecturer on various trademark-related topics.

For his work in trademarks, Alan was chosen by The Legal 500 United States for inclusion in their 2007 Intellectual Property Edition.  In 2006, he was named in Who's Who Legal USA: Trademark Law and, in 2003, Alan ranked number four among the top U.S. trademark attorneys by NameProtect’s Trademark Insider®.  Furthermore, based on confidential peer reviews, Martindale-Hubbell has assigned him its highest AV rating for both ethics and legal abilities in his practice area.  Alan was also honored with a listing in Law & Politics’ New York Super Lawyers®.
