Overview
Andrew B. Cohn, a principal of the firm, is a member of the Construction & Surety Law and Commercial Litigation Departments. He concentrates his practice in construction and surety law, representing owner-developers, contractors, subcontractors, and sureties in the negotiation and trial of construction claims. Mr. Cohn's practice includes the negotiation and drafting of construction contracts and other construction-related agreements.
Before entering private practive, Mr. Cohn spent six years as an Assistant Philadelphia District Attorney in the Edward G. Rendell administration where he investigated and prosecuted fraud, corruption, and complex white collar crime cases. He uses this experience in representing clients in surety, fidelity and commercial litigation cases, including subrogation claims against responsible third parties.
Mr. Cohn's construction practice includes the review and structuring of construction contracts and transactions, alternative dispute resolution, both as counsel to parties in ADR, and as an arbitrator and mediator of disputes. He has been trained as a mediator by the American Arbitration Association of which he is a member, and serves as an arbitrator and mediator for the AAA. He is also a frequent speaker on construction and surety topics.
