The focus of Dr. Heuel is on national and international commercial, corporate and transactional law. Dr. Heuel has extensive experience in representing companies and individuals in German and cross-boarder commercial issues, corporate transactions (incl. M&A, restructurings, private equity and distressed situations), ship construction, acquisition and financing, capital investments (inter alia, closed-end funds, in particular shipping funds), private office and finance.
Dr. Heuel studied law in Marburg and London (London School of Economics). He received the degree of a Master of Law (LL.M.) from Harvard Law School in 1999. He wrote his doctoral thesis on professional responsibility. Dr. Heuel started his legal career in 1999 with a renowned law firm in Boston (USA). Between the end of 2000 and 2005 he worked for leading internationally active law firms in Frankfurt am Main. He was a partner in a commercial law firm in Bremen before he joined our firm as a partner in 2010.
