David McMillan acts as audit partner in the Scottish office of Armstrong Watson, being a Responsible Individual in that firm. In addition David has responsibility for managing a varied client base operating across many industries, professions and charities advising them at all stages of their business life cycle on accounting, audit and assurance and taxation matters.
Overview
David trained in a medium-sized professional firm in Glasgow following qualification working for three years (two years abroad) with an international firm of chartered accountants mainly on audit related assignments for international clients. David then spent two years in industry with a major Scottish Mutual Life Assurance Company and national distribution network before returning to the profession and the opportunity for self employment . He quotes his main business achievement as being the development of that self employment into an accountancy partnership of sufficient merit and size to attract the attention of Armstrong Watson with whom they merged in late 2006.
David has a wide spectrum of clients across all industries and professions but due to his position as the Responsible Individual for audit tends to specialise in the areas of charities, engineering and construction. .
