Overview
Debra A. Porter focuses her practice on estate planning, business succession planning; business formation and taxation, and tax-exempt organizations. She assists clients with simple and complex estate planning matters including wills, trusts, and associated estate and gift tax matters. Deb has significant experience with the tax and legal aspects related to the purchase and sale of businesses, family and closely held business matters, business organization and maintenance, and complex business transactions.
Prior to joining our team, Deb practiced law in Steamboat Springs, Colorado and continues to serve clients in this area. During law school she was a law clerk for Oregon's Land Use State Board of Appeals and was a county court mediator. Deb also designed and conducted a pilot project for Oregon's Department of Land Conservation and Development which studied the impact of mediation in land use disputes in Oregon. She studied international law for a summer in Florence, Italy.
Deb was born in Minnesota and moved to Colorado in 1991. She enjoys riding her motorcycle, traveling, skiing, hiking, and trying to surf.
