Overview
Francis received his early training in a London-based international law firm renowned for its shipping and insurance practice. He then moved on to work in the banking department of a Hong Kong-based international law firm. In 1993, he became a partner of the predecessor of the present firm.
Due to his profound interest and experience in the industry, insurance has always been Francis' major area of practice. He has advised insurance companies on special schemes relating to estate duty exposure; drafted and advised on insurance policies; claimed against and defended insurers in insurance claims and litigation; and represented insurance agents in disciplinary investigations by the Insurance Agents' Registration Board, as well as in appeals against its decisions. He is also active in advising on estate planning, wills, probate and trust matters.
