Overview
Mr. Tan is a practising member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Singapore. He qualified as a chartered accountant (Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales) with an international accounting firm in London.
Mr. Tan has appeared as an accounting expert witness before the Singapore High Court (Merteks Pte Ltd v Straits Engineering Contracting Pte Ltd - [1995] SGHC 28; [1996] 1 SLR 227). He has also conducted an investigation into the affairs of a shipping group which was being wound up on a Court Order under the Singapore Companies Act, in 1980 Mr. Tan is an associate member of the Singapore Academy of Law, a member of the Singapore Institute of Arbitrators, and a member of professional bodies in London and Malaysia.
