Gerry Avery is the Managing Partner of Avery Cooper. Gerry has lived in Yellowknife since he moved there with his parents in 1954. He joined the firm in 1974 and became a partner in 1977. Gerry took on the role of Managing Partner in 1990. He specializes in financial forecasting, budgeting, comptroller functions, business valuations, personal and corporate financial planning, feasibility studies, financing proposals and business plans. In 1996, the National Board of the Certified General Accountants' Association awarded Gerry with his F.C.G.A., an honour for which an individual is nominated based on their dedication, commitment and support of the accounting profession and the community in which they live.  In 2010, Gerry was recognized as the  Businessperson of the Year by the NWT Chamber of Commerce and the firm was honoured as Up Here Business Magazine's Employer of the Year.
