Jay's work experience includes real estate transactional work including due diligence and contract drafting, general business representation including entity formation and resolution of employment law issues and litigation of contract disputes, judicial foreclosures and evictions . He has represented businesses, individuals and government entities, including real estate developers, lenders, receivers, employers, and special districts.
Prior to joining Fairfield and Woods, Jay graduated from the University of Colorado at Boulder, where he received his J.D. with a tax certificate from the law school and his M.B.A. in real estate development from the Leeds School of Business. While in school, Jay was an associate editor of the University of Colorado Law Review, President of the Business Law Association, and President of the Construction and Real Estate Law Association. Jay also represented small businesses while working with the law school’s Entrepreneurial Law Clinic in 2007. Jay is also expects to complete his masters of law (L.L.M.) in tax law from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law in 2011.
Jay was born in Colorado Springs. In his spare time, he enjoys playing soccer, skiing, traveling, attending Rockies and Avalanche games, and spending time with his wife and three dogs.
