Overview

Kevan F. Hirsch is a principal of the firm and a member of the Construction & Surety Law, Commercial Litigation and Employment Departments.  Mr. Hirsch represents a diverse array of clients in resolving their commercial claims and disputes with a large segment of his practice devoted to representation of general contractors, trade contractors, and industrial equipment manufacturers.  He has assisted clients on projects ranging from skyscrapers to shipbuilding and has been involved in all phases of private and government projects from bid protests and contract negotiation to resolving post-construction claims for owners, contractors and suppliers.  He has represented several national and regional general contractors and construction managers on major projects in Philadelphia and the Delaware Valley.  He has pursued all types of claims for subcontractors and suppliers and their bonding companies.
For many years, Mr. Hirsch has represented one of the largest precision gear manufacturers in the world and one of the largest manufacturers of commercial mixing equipment in the United States.  Representing these clients has enabled development of particular expertise in precision machinery manufacture which has been useful in resolution of disputes on numerous commercial, industrial, water and wastewater, maritime, naval, municipal and military projects throughout the United States and abroad.
For insurance clients, Mr. Hirsch has developed expertise in defending "bad faith" claims against carriers, and regularly represents a major insurance group in actions brought directly against the compaines in this region.  He has represented insurers and insureds in resolving complex coverage, premium and financial disputes relating to retrospectively rated policies and other sophisticated insurance products.  He has been involved in a variety of matters for bonding companies with default or completion issues and for insurers handling complex construction liability situations. 
For business clients, Mr. Hirsch has handled internal disputes, representing shareholders, directors, publicly traded and closely held corporations in matters involving such issues is dissenters' rights, dissolution, control premiums, fiduciary duties, employee termination, ERISA and discrimination claims, and employee transfer of intellectual property rights.  He has handled contract disputes, business torts and statutory claims for a wide variety of manufacturing, financial and professional services, sales and other clients.  Mr. Hirsch has had extensive involvement iwth protection of trade secrets and enforcement of intellectual property rights.
