Laura advises providers of care homes, nursing homes, supported living facilities and independent hospitals on a range of issues including local authority or PCT contractual disputes, safeguarding investigations and police investigations. She also defends regulatory enforcement action by CQC, assists in appeals to the Tribunal and acts for clients in relation to professional misconduct hearings and in disputing POVA or POCA listing. She also has experience of public law judicial review proceedings within the care sector.
Laura also does regulatory due diligence for both purchasers and vendors, dealing with acquisitions or sales of all types of care facilities, including care homes, day schools, independent special schools, fostering agencies and acute medical units.
