Overview

Marc focuses on complex real estate matters, including joint ventures and partnership agreements involving preferred returns, buy-sells and control issues; bankruptcy-related real estate and lease acquisitions, retail, office and industrial leases, purchases and dispositions involving tax structuring, earnouts and master leases; and financings, representing both lender and borrower, involving loan documentation, workouts, restructuring, participations, tri-party agreements and convertible mortgages.

Some of Marc’s recent engagements have included:

• Structuring and drafting of numerous joint venture agreements, leasing agreements and management agreements related to joint ventures between a major owner of shopping centers around the country and various real estate funds valued between $250 million and $1 billion
• Leasing, development and sale of numerous Mervyns department stores and Albertson’s grocery stores throughout the country
• Leasing to various national retailers (Office Depot, Urban Outfitters and Annie Sez) for a new development on State Street in Chicago
• Development, equity infusion and debt restructuring of an approximately $110 million retail/apartment project in Hollywood, California
• Acquisition, leasing, development and sale of 230 Service Merchandise locations in 25 states
• Retail and office leasing of One Mag Mile, a prominent retail, office and condominium project on Michigan Avenue in Chicago
