For the past fifteen years, the majority of Mr. Coughlin's practice has been devoted to representing title agents, title underwriters and their insureds in title insurance claims litigation, including Stewart Title Guaranty Company, First American Title Insurance Company, Commonwealth Land Title Insurance Company, Industrial Valley Title Insurance Company, Lawyers Title Insurance Corporation, Chicago Title Insurance Company, Fidelity National Insurance Company, Old Republic Title Insurance Company, and United General Title Insurance Company.
He regularly writes and lectures to various groups on issues of interest to the title insurance industry and is currently co-editor of the "Title Policies" section of the Pennsylvania Land Title Association's publication, "Common Ground".  He has represented the Pennsylvania Land Title Association, as amicus curiae, in several appeals before the Pennsylvania appellate courts.
In addition, Mr. Coughlin successfully defended on behalf of four title underwriters over 200 homeowners in the action instituted by the former boxer, Joseph Frazier, in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, seeking to set aside deeds to those homeowners as a result of alleged fraud in the chains of title to their properties.
