Robert J. Semaya, is a member of the firm's litigation practice. Mr. Semaya is an experienced litigator who represents a diverse group of clients in a broad range of commercial and real property matters before federal, state and local courts and administrative tribunals. His practice is varied and includes representation of real estate developers, banks, financial services companies, manufacturers, retailers, hotel operators, restauranteurs, owners and operators of parking facilities and entertainment companies. Mr. Semaya has represented clients in litigations involving property ownership, tax lien and mortgage foreclosures, local taxation, breach of contract, fraud, corporate dissolutions, partnership disputes and other matters.

Prior to joining Moses & Singer, Mr. Semaya was the partner in charge of the real estate foreclosure group at a prominent New York firm. In a recent case, before the New York City Tax Appeals Tribunal, Mr. Semaya, who was counsel to the sponsor of several cooperative apartment building conversions, was successful in reversing a decision by an administrative law judge that exposed the former owners of the properties to $2 million in back unincorporated business tax.
