Stephen B. Hatcher, shareholder at Orlando law firm ZKS, focuses his practice on real estate development and financing, business formations, sales and acqusitions, asset protection, estate planning, trusts and taxation.

Overview

As a Florida real estate lawyer, Mr. Hatcher represents numerous lenders and developers concerning the acquisition, financing, development, leasing and sale of real estate projects:
- Coordinating the acquisition and finance of multiple retail sites in several states as a single transaction. 
- Representing lenders concerning commercial lending transactions.
- Coordinating 1031 exchange transactions.
- Overseeing the development of a mixed use DRI project.
- Representing local and national clients concerning the buying, selling and leasing of retail sites.

Mr. Hatcher obtained his law degree from Vanderbilt University and later obtained an LL.M in Taxation from the University of Florida. This specialized training as a Florida tax attorney allows Mr. Hatcher to focus not only on the various tax aspects of real estate transactions, but also on estate planning issues involving taxable estates:
- Preparing simple wills, powers of attorney and related documents.
- Preparing pour over wills and revocable (living) trusts.
- Preparing and administering irrevocable trusts for life insurance and other assets.
- Counseling clients concerning gifting, charitable remainder trusts, family partnerships, generation skipping transfers and other matters.

Also active in the community, Mr. Hatcher is an elder at Orangewood Presbyterian Church and is a past Chairman of the School Committee for Orangewood Christian School. Mr. Hatcher has served as Secretary to the Lifeworks Leadership (fka Greater Orlando Leadership Foundation) and was a Scoutmaster for five years with Troop 687 of the Boy Scouts of America.

Mr. Hatcher currently serves on the Executive Advisory Board Exchange (EABX). EABX is a nonprofit venture composed of a group of dedicated business professionals, which is committed to growing local businesses with a sales volume of $5,000,000 or more by providing cost-free advisory boards that meet with these business clients on a quarterly basis. These advisory boards of seasoned professionals serve as a sounding board to guide the business client to increased levels of performance.

Mr. Hatcher is a member of The Florida Bar, holds the AV rating from Martindale Hubbell and has been honored to be listed in the publication Leading American Attorneys. He has also received the designation of Super Lawyer in the Super Lawyers Magazine being counted among the elite 5% of Florida’s attorneys to receive this honor.
