Overview

Stephen N. Weiss has tried numerous cases in the state and federal courts, in the areas of general commercial, patent, trademark and product liability. He has also represented clients before the International Court of Arbitration, the Federal Trade Commission and the International Trade Commission.

Mr. Weiss has extensive experience in Asia. He opened a former law firm's office in Shanghai, and has worked on intellectual property and commercial litigation matters with Chinese counsel in the People's Republic of China, testified as an expert witness before the Hong Kong Board of Revenue, and represented Chinese and Hong Kong companies in Special 301 proceedings before the ITC. He currently works with the China/U.S. Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai.

Mr. Weiss began his career as a trial attorney with the Criminal Defense Division of the New York Legal Aid Society. He was a co-organizer and speaker at the "GATT-WTO" update seminars held in Munich in 1995, and is currently general counsel to the IRIS Technology group of companies of the Multi-Media Super Corridor in Malaysia. In the course of his practice, he has worked closely with law firms in Canada, Germany, England, Hong Kong, China and Japan and he served as an adjudicator for the U.S. Veterans Administration from 1970-74.
