Portuguese Law Firm Appointed by International Association

Leading international association of independent law and accounting firms, MSI Global Alliance (www.msiglobal.org) is delighted to announce the expansion of its legal membership to Lisbon, Portugal.

Portuguese law firm Antas da Cunha, Ferreira & Associados becomes MSI's sole law firm member in Portugal as of 1 March 2011 and will ensure that the full range of commercial legal services is available to clients doing business across Portugal.

This latest appointment completes MSI's coverage in Portugal with the association's established accounting firm member Moneris Group (www.moneris.pt) providing an extensive range of services related to accounting and tax that perfectly complement those provided by MSI's new law firm member.

Founded in 2005, Antas da Cunha, Ferreira & Associados is a growing law firm that is able to offer a full range of commercial legal services. The firm is skilled in advising both Portuguese companies investing outside of the country, but also foreign companies targeting Portugal for inward investment. Practice areas include: real estate, tourism & construction; litigation; administrative law; commercial & corporate law; intellectual property; social security & labour law; tax law; shipping; and IT law. Clients range from SME (PME) businesses to multinational corporations such as Portugal Telecom.

As regular attendees of the IBA Annual Conference, both partners understand the importance of networking and being able to reach out to trusted connections in different jurisdictions. However, as the firm has grown, the need for formalising contacts with similar sized law firms through an association tie-up has become all the more more pressing, particularly when clients have been underwhelmed by the lack of response and urgency shown by some of the larger law firms to whom matters have occasionally been referred! The firm's MSI membership will allow the firm to offer its clients greater service reliability when involved in international matters.
