Gardiner Roberts, Alix Frank Rechtsanwälte GmbH and SOT Süd-Ost Treuhand advised mutual clients on business development projects in Austria and Canada and presented a seminar on legal risks and solutions in international business transactions at the 1st Canada - Europe Green Building Forum in 2011. This year, the three MSI firms participated in the Canadian Embassy's 2nd Canada - Europe Green Building Forum in Vienna in mid-March. Representatives of the three firms spoke to participants about effective business structures for cross-border trade in goods and services in the fast growing field of green building, focusing on design, materials, and construction. More than 75 participants from Canada and Austria met at the Forum to examine opportunities for business development in this fast growing sector of the economy.
"The Forum gives us an excellent opportunity to provide potential investors and trading partners with the cross-cultural, professional advice that is pivotal to their business success," said Franz Heidinger, a senior partner of Vienna based MSI member firm Alix Frank. "Our mutual clients appreciate the well established seamless service that we can offer as fellow MSI firms," Lee Stratton, senior partner of Toronto based MSI-member Gardiner Roberts said. He added, "There are many opportunities for Austro-Canadian projects and the local members of MSI ensure excellent advice and service in both jurisdictions".
