Peru becomes the 59th country to join the international database TMClass.
Through an agreement of understanding concluded with the Intellectual Property Office of the European Union (EUIPO), the National Institute for the Defense of Competition and the Protection of Intellectual Property (Indecopi) has joined the international database TMClass. In this way Peru becomes the 59th country to join this database.
TMclass is the largest database in the world in matters of classification of trademarks, contains approximately 65,000 terms already validated in 23 languages of the EU, which allows the user to classify in a fast and easy way, products and services for its consignment in the registration applications of Distinctive Signs.
It is noteworthy that all the information has been previously approved by the Intellectual Property Office of the EU and OAMI. This tool is the result of a valuable initiative by EUIPO along with other offices of Distinctive Signs in the world, in order to expedite the process of trademark registrations and patents.
