Moneris creates ‘People and Culture’ department

26th April 2021

MSI's Portuguese accounting member Moneris extinguished its "traditional” Human Resources department and created a new 'People and Culture' department to reflect a new vision of the company with its greatest asset: "people". Sara Nunes assumes the leadership of the department.

It is a new approach, breaking with the previous human resources paradigm. Moneris’ new “People and Culture” department seeks more than asset management, focusing on promoting people and their professional and human skills as well as Moneris’ internal culture and values. To embrace this challenge Sara Nunes now joins the Moneris team, taking over the direction of this newly created department.

Sara Nunes has a degree in psychology and, in the last 9 years, has performed coordination and people management functions in a multinational hotel group, where she had the opportunity to develop skills and experience in the area of human resources, especially in the areas of training and coaching, recruitment and selection, personal development and career plan, as well as organizational culture.

The monitoring and development of human capital is one of the areas that, at the moment, should demand greater attention and priority on the part of managers and companies.

‘We live in unique times, with a profound change in the work context, and in the culture of companies. At Moneris, we embrace this challenge positively, with ambition and enthusiasm, aiming to reinforce long-term changes in behavior. Sara’s contribution will be fundamental for us to continue the investment policy in our People and reinforce our Culture, so that, together, we face the challenges and opportunities during and after the pandemic”, says Rui Almeida, CEO and managing partner of Moneris.

The new director, on the other hand, considers it a privilege to join the team in this transformation, emphasizing that “the company clearly aims to focus on its human capital management strategy, developing and taking care of its people”.
