Dennis’ work in the estate planning area concerns all aspects of estate, gift and generation-skipping transfer tax planning, including complex wills and trust arrangements, charitable foundations, and various valuation discounting mechanisms. Work in the estate planning area in many instances focuses on the unique planning opportunities associated with closely held family businesses and succession planning. Dennis also has experience with corporate counseling, wealth and successional planning as well as health care transactional work for physicians and ancillary services companies.
Since 1995, Hyche has practiced at Smith Moore Leatherwood in the wealth transfer planning area. His work encompasses all aspects of estate, gift and generation-skipping transfer tax planning. In the trusts and estates area, he represents trustees, personal representatives and beneficiaries during the administration process, and he is involved with the decanting, modification, reformation and termination of irrevocable trusts. From 2008 until 2017, Hyche served as a member of the firm’s management committee and was the partner-in-charge of the Greenville office.
Kaess, firm wide wealth management and taxation practice leader, assists clients in drafting and executing comprehensive estate plans, with specific emphases on estate tax, gift tax and charitable gift planning. She also assists fiduciaries, such as executors and trustees, on matters involving estate and trust administration.
