MSI’s Louisiana law member Taylor Porter launches a professionalism seminar series at Baton Rouge's Mentorship STEAM Academy supporting senior students in their career development.
Attorneys Leslie Daniel and Scott Mansfield presented, “Professional Attire: Dress for Success,” discussing various dos and don’t’s of how to dress in the workplace and how dressing for success helps them in the workforce. The seminar was a first of five seminars to be presented by Taylor Porter attorneys to seniors at Mentorship STEAM Academy.
“How to Become an Attorney” was presented by Taylor Porter’s attorney Ryan French on 30 November; “Confidentiality” by Adam Thames and Juan Miranda on 20 December; “Professionalism in the Workplace” by John Parker and Lauren Rivera on 12 January; and “Workplace Diversity” by Vicki Crochet and Katia Bowman in January, date TBD.
Mentorship STEAM Academy is an early college high school for students who may have been or are being undeserved in previous/current educational experiences. The high school program aims to prepare all students to undertake a four-year college or university career pathway and delivered through integrated, project-based approaches. Like traditional schools, full-time teaching staff teach students, but these teachers receive support from industry and university representatives both in and outside of the classroom. These interactions help to provide younger students with an informed career focus.
Taylor Porter attorneys are dedicated to enriching the community in which their attorneys, staff, families, and clients live and work, and this commitment to giving back in the community is generated by volunteering at various activities through schools, non-profits and community events, and serving on the boards of directors of non-profit organisations or making contributions to worthwhile causes.
Founded in 1912 in the heart of Louisiana’s economic development in Baton Rouge, Taylor Porter is one of the oldest, largest and most respected law firms in Louisiana, with a diverse range of local, regional, national and international clients in the most complex transactions and litigation across a variety of industries.
