What was once perceived as the preferred currency of dubious online transactions and shady business dealings is increasingly entering the mainstream, with many commercial enterprises accepting cryptocurrency. Given these fast-moving developments, how should lawyers advise clients regarding the legal, business, financial and operational aspects of Bitcoin? Is it ethical for lawyers to receive Bitcoin as fees for legal services?
