Partnering with Phil Gott from Firm Academy, we are pleased to introduce our MSI Academy Professional Skills Programme to our membership.
Within four main pillars of performance, the programme’s monthly sessions will cover the following areas:
- Self-development
- Confident communication and influencing
- Managing others
- Delivering for clients and internal clients
Through a convenient blend of Zoom calls and online learning, the programme is practical, interactive and aims to elevate your professional skills to achieve greater success. It will help to meet your CPD requirements and is an opportunity to build relationships with like-minded professionals in MSI.
October Session:
Giving effective feedback to develop people and raise
performance
Professional people depend on receiving feedback for their development. Yet, while we know we should provide feedback, it can sometimes feel uncomfortable to do so, particularly where there is room for improvement. This session we will focus on:
- Why everyone benefits when you invest just a little time in giving continuous feedback
- Making objective assessments of performance and avoiding ‘unconscious bias’
- Recognising when written feedback is not enough and a conversation is needed
- Structuring and providing effective feedback in practice
- Balancing improvement feedback with praise and recognition
- Conveying what seem like difficult messages
- Adapting feedback and your communication style for different people
- How to deal with people who seem defensive or unreceptive to feedback

Zoom: 08:00 or 17:00 on 4 October
*Participants can select one time slot for each of the zoom calls.
