Corrigan Krause senior manager Alexis Urbansky wins CCH William Award for Breakthrough Leader

MSI’s Ohio accounting member Corrigan Krause congratulates Alexis Urbansky on winning the 2025 CCH William Award for Breakthrough Leader, recognising her outstanding leadership and contribution to the profession.

Alexis joined the CK team in 2020 as a Manager, elevating our Assurance Services Department. She was quickly promoted to Senior Manager. Alexis’ impact on our firm has been clear since day one. She challenges the status quo, looking for new, innovative and creative solutions to bring to our team and her clients. Whether it is establishing an internal women’s leadership group, mentoring newer associates or voicing a different perspective on a technical project, Alexis creates the best kind of waves.

Alexis first began her career in public accounting at s big four firm, making her mark as she grew from Associate to Manager. As she transitioned to CK, Alexis brought a plethora of ideas to bring to the table. She has been instrumental in growing our compilations, reviews and audits areas in the manufacturing, professional services, healthcare and construction industries.

Additionally, she has been an excellent mentor to our crew of Supervisors. Danny, one of our Assurance Services Supervisors, who works frequently with Alexis said that she is his “go-to for questions regarding financial reporting and accounting standards.” He also emphasized that she is “one of the best leaders from a technical development and reporting requirements/standards perspective.”

Alexis continues to go above and beyond in both the technical scope but also in developing our firm as a whole. Alexis recently welcomed her own little one in 2024 and felt inspired to expand the welcoming environment at our firm for women and working moms. She is establishing affirm-wide Women in Leadership group at CK where women and working moms alike have a space to talk about their professional development and support each other as they achieve new goals.

From a personal growth perspective, Alexis continues to make waves as she is the first to follow CK’s Director-in-Training protocol, making her instrumental in shaping this new professional development initiative. Her feedback will be used to build this cornerstone program, helping to secure the future of CK as we train the next generation of leaders.

Lastly, Alexis has been at the forefront of navigating Artificial Intelligence and its usage in the accounting industry, specifically in the Assurance Services sphere. While our firm is still vetting methods and approaches with AI, Alexis has championed digging deeper into AI, specifically leveraging its usage for financial statement and footnote purposes.
