To celebrate the 35th anniversary of MSI Global Alliance, we’re speaking to members from around the world. Let’s hear from MSI's law member Carag Zaballero Llamado and Abiera Law Offices:

Carag Zaballero Llamado and Abiera Law Offices (CAZLA Law), based in the Philippines, has been part of MSI since 2011. With a strong focus on supporting clients with cross-border matters, the firm embodies how MSI’s global alliance helps members to deliver local insight with international reach.

When did your firm join MSI and what were the reasons to join a global alliance?

CAZLA Law joined MSI in 2011 to become part of an alliance so we could better support our clients with cross-border needs. We also valued the opportunity to learn best practices from member firms in other jurisdictions and to strengthen our reach through collaboration and marketing.

In three words, what does MSI membership mean to you and your firm

Reliable, collaborative, network.

How has MSI helped you in serving your clients; locally and/or internationally?

Membership in MSI has enabled CAZLA Law to deliver seamless support to clients facing challenges across borders or operating in multiple countries. With access to a well-established group of legal and accounting professionals, we’ve been able to connect clients quickly to the right expertise through MSI’s trusted referral system.

Looking back at your time with MSI, what has stood out the most? Has there been a specific highlight or milestone?

A major milestone for us was attending the first MSI Asia-Pacific Conference. It was a valuable opportunity to connect with professionals across the region in an environment that combined collaboration with a truly welcoming atmosphere.

What has been your most memorable moment from an MSI event?

For us, co-chairing a Specialist Interest Group in 2025 during MSI’s International SIG Festival was a highlight. We shared insights on outsourcing practices in the Philippines and engaged in thoughtful exchanges with international practitioners who face similar challenges. The event showcased the value of MSI’s global platform for sharing knowledge and experiences.

CAZLA Law’s story highlights the impact of collaboration and shared expertise within MSI. From contributing insights on outsourcing practices to building long-term international relationships, the firm continues to make the most of its membership.

As MSI celebrates 35 years, it is the commitment of members like CAZLA Law that makes our global alliance stronger and more connected for the future.
