Former Simba & Simba Senior Partner appointed Judge of Kenya’s High Court

Simba & Simba Advocates LLP is proud to celebrate the appointment of its former Senior Partner, Hon. Justice Bernard Murunga Wafula, as a Judge of the High Court of Kenya. Justice Murunga was sworn into office on 4th May 2026 and has been deployed to the Commercial and Tax Division of the Milimani High Court, where he will serve in the administration of justice in complex commercial and tax matters.

Prior to his appointment to the Bench, Justice Murunga served as Chairperson of Kenya’s Sports Disputes Tribunal, having been appointed in June 2025. He was the second Chairperson of the Tribunal since its operationalisation and had previously served as a member of the Tribunal.

His elevation to the High Court marks the culmination of a distinguished legal career spanning private practice, intellectual property, commercial litigation, sports law and public service.
