Johnston Withers honours, and is honoured

MSI's Adelaide law firm member Johnston Withers partnered with Flinders University Law School to present the Elliot Johnson Memorial Lecture in honour of the firm’s revered founder.

In December 2015 Johnston Withers once again partnered with Flinders University Law School and the Office of Indigenous Strategy and Engagement to present the Elliot Johnson Memorial Lecture in honour of the firm’s revered founder, Elliot Johnson AM QC. This year’s extremely well attended lecture was presented by New Zealander Associate Professor Jacinta Ruru and was on the laws of Indigenous peoples and their acceptance within, and incorporation into, settler legal systems. And Johnston Withers was itself honoured in 2015. The Magna Carta 800th Committee presented the firm with a framed copy of the Magna Carta for its ‘work, support and contribution for many years to provide Australians with access to affordable legal advice’. Johnston Withers was the only SA firm to be recognised by the committee.
