LSP Associates receives grant to develop 'Open Taxation Data Portal'

MSI's Nepalese accounting member LSP Associates (LSPA) has received a grant of US$10,000 from the Open Data Innovation fund for the development of an 'Open Taxation Data Portal'. The Open Data Innovation Fund is supported by The Asia Foundation in partnership with Development Initiatives as part of the “Improving the Sharing and Use of (Open) Data as Evidence for Development” Programme funded by the UK Government.

The fund is focused on helping Nepal's development innovators to address development challenges by supporting them with funding and supporting their innovative solutions to improving the accessibility and use of (open) development data. LSPA will be working closely with Asia Foundation over next three months to successfully implement the project objectives which are outlined as follows:
  1. Compilation and analysis of taxation data;
  2. Categorization of taxation data into sub groups
  3. Providing open access to taxation data for further research and integration for development.
The Open Taxation Data Portal will be focused on Nepal´s taxation data and will be open for public and commercial use. The project is set to be completed by May 31, 2018.
