Rubino & Company, Chartered, is pleased to announce that J. Michael Stephens, CPA, has been admitted to the shareholder group effective 1 February 2016.
Mike joined Rubino & Company in July of 2014 after more than 28 years at a large national firm, including 15 years as a partner. He is responsible for managing audit, accounting and outsourcing engagements for Rubino & Company. He has nearly 30 years of public accounting experience focused on the public sector; including governmental, quasi-governmental and nonprofit organizations. Mike specializes in the public housing, housing finance and transportation industries.
Most of the client engagements Mike works on include audits in accordance with OMB Circular A-133. These client organizations have included some of the largest housing and transportation agencies in the country and are unique in that they include aspects of both for-profit and public sector accounting, reporting and operational issues. As a result, his clients look to him for guidance in determining the applicability of standards and their implementation, as well as ongoing compliance advisory services. He also provides consulting and advisory services to clients on complex financing and operational issues.
Mike is a nationally recognized presenter and speaker, having presented on audit, compliance and reporting issues that impact public sector organizations; especially in the public housing arena.
