Rubino & Company's shareholder named outstanding member in Public Practice

Rubino & Company, Chartered, MSI's Maryland accounting member is proud to announce that A. Michael Gellman was named the 2016 recipient of the Greater Washington Society of CPAs Outstanding Member in Public Practice Award on 9 June 2016.

Michael focuses his practice on nonprofit organizations; including trade, professional and membership organizations, public charities and grant-based organizations. His work has largely focused on specialized management and advisory services. Michael works predominately with comprehensive budget and projection-based system environments in support of senior management and organizational leadership. He has been designing, installing, interpreting and teaching budget and projection-based systems for over 30 years. He has conducted numerous seminars and workshops and has written articles on budgeting, reserve and investment policies, financial management and Federal Form 990 and the impact on governance and transparency. He is a regular adjunct instructor in nonprofit management at Georgetown University. He is a past-president of the Greater Washington Society of CPAs and former chair of the Not-For-Profit Organizations Symposium and Not-For-Profit Committee. He serves on numerous nonprofit boards including B’nai B’rith International and Lois Roth (Fulbright) Endowment. In addition, Mike has served on the Finance & Administration Section Council of the American Society of Association Executives. Michael is a licensed Certified Public Accountant and Chartered Global Management Accountant. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), Greater Washington Society of CPAs and the Maryland Society of CPAs.He received his BS in Accounting from the University of Maryland.
