


Carrington Coleman
Russ Pearlman is a technology executive and practicing attorney whose work sits where AI, law, and enterprise operations come together. He serves as Chief Information Officer of Dallas College, a seven-campus system serving roughly 135,000 students, and as Of Counsel at Carrington Coleman, Sloman & Blumenthal, where his practice centers on AI governance, technology transactions, and data privacy. His career spans over 30 years of enterprise technology leadership, including CIO and CTO roles at Toyota, Creighton University, Merkle, and Koios. He holds a J.D. from SMU Dedman School of Law and an M.S. in Artificial Intelligence, and he teaches engineering leadership at SMU's Hart Center. A six-time Texas Super Lawyers Rising Star in Technology Transactions and the 2026 Dallas ORBIE CIO of the Year, he writes and speaks regularly on the legal, ethical, and liability questions that AI is putting in front of professionals and the firms that advise them.

Donny also serves as the Inspiration Architect for the Center for Accounting Transformation, a community of innovators dedicated to helping accountants, auditors, and tax professionals adapt to the future of the profession through research, education, coaching, and competency development.
A respected leader within the profession, Donny is a past co-chair of the National Conference of Lawyers and CPAs and former chairman of the AICPA's Information Management and Technology Assurance Executive Committee. He has also served on the AICPA Governing Council, Assurance Services Executive Committee, and numerous other committees and task forces.
His contributions have earned widespread recognition, including being named one of the Top Thought Leaders in Public Accounting by CPA Practice Advisor since 2012, one of Accounting Today's Top 100 Most Influential People in Accounting multiple times between 2013 and 2025, and one of Forbes' Top 200 CPAs in America. He has also received the Hawaii Society of CPAs President's Award and been recognized as a CPA Technology Advisor 40 Under 40 honoree.
