When ADKL helped create MSI 35 years ago, what was your vision for the future of the global alliance?
When we at ADKL, as one of the founding firms of MSI, came together 35 years ago, our vision was clear. We wanted to continue supporting our trusted national clients as they expanded internationally. With the same quality, integrity, and personal commitment they knew from us at home.
The goal was not to win foreign clients, but to accompany our existing clients on their journey into an increasingly globalised world. To do so, we sought like-minded professionals across the globe who shared our standards in tax, law, and advisory services, who would work together based on mutual trust rather than heavy contractual frameworks.
What changes have you seen over the years? How has that original vision been shaped by the members?
Over the years, we have seen MSI grow from a visionary idea into a truly global and professional alliance. The number and diversity of member firms have increased, our collective expertise has deepened, and our ways of working have evolved with digitalisation and new collaboration tools.
A particularly meaningful development has been the generational transition: new, younger partners have stepped into leadership across member firms, bringing fresh perspectives and energy while carrying forward the same founding values of trust, quality, and personal connection. The original vision has not only endured, it has become stronger and more relevant.
In three words, what does MSI Global Alliance mean to you as a founding member?
Trust, proximity and intercultural acceptance
Looking back over the past 35 years, what moments have stood out the most? Has there been a specific highlight or milestone?
For us, one of the most meaningful aspects has always been the deep level of trust and personal relationships that have grown between members across borders.
A key milestone was the COVID-19 pandemic, when in-person meetings were impossible for nearly two years. Yet, instead of weakening connections, this period acted as a catalyst, proving that our relationships went far beyond formal business ties. They are built on genuine friendship, mutual support, and resilience.
Now that we’re celebrating 35 years of connections, how do you feel about the alliance your firm helped to create?
We feel deep pride and gratitude. What began as a practical idea to continue supporting our clients internationally has grown into a strong, enduring, and human alliance that still lives by its founding principles.
Seeing how MSI has adapted to change, welcomed new generations of professionals, and remained anchored in trust and collaboration is truly rewarding. It is an honour for us at ADKL to have been part of MSI’s story from the beginning and to see the alliance thriving 35 years on.
